Regulation 686/2023 - implement a minimum basic fee for domestic transport in Hungary from January 28th. It also regulates the number of subcontractors.
The Hungarian Road Transport Association (MKFE) explains that the basic price will be determined according to vehicle category, distance, toll amount, and fuel consumption.
Fees for loading, pallets sorting and downtime are fixed.
The rate for the service can't be lower than the sum of three times the toll and the fuel rate following NAV regulations.
However, the principle of regulating the number of subcontractors can be appealed - if both parties agree and it's communicated.
But it's not an entirely new law - minimum rates were in common use around the world until the 1980s when deregulation occurred and governments freed up car transport pricing.
In addition, regulations regarding the number of subcontractors also apply in the USA and Spain.
What do you think about implementing such a solution in Poland?
